We follow NY State Department of Health and NY State Department of Labor Remediation Protocols

Prior to performing any mold remediation work, a site inspection is performed to evaluate the extent of the necessary moldy materials removal work.

After a scope of work is established and accepted by the client, the following procedures are followed by our mold remediation technicians to assure the project is completed successfully and in accordance with the guidelines established by the NY State Department of Health, the NY State Department of Labor, the Institute of Inspection, Cleaning and Restoration Certification (IICRC), and other regulatory authorities:

1-Prior to the performance of the mold removal work, containment is set up and negative air filtration unit(s) are installed in the work area(s) to assure that mold spores, dust, and other contaminants do not infiltrate from the work area into other areas of the house during the performance of the mold remediation work. Any personal property items and built-in furniture/cabinetry in the work areas that cannot be removed are covered/protected. All forced air heating and cooling supply/return ducts are also covered/protected.

2-Water damaged and moldy building materials within the containment area are then removed and placed into double plastic contractor bags prior to being removed from the work area.

3-After water damage and moldy building materials are removed, underlying wall, floor, and/or ceiling cavity surfaces are thoroughly HEPA vacuumed to remove dust and debris that frequently contain elevated levels of mold spores and other contaminants.

4-After the HEPA vacuuming work, remediated surfaces are disinfected with an EPA approved, low-toxicity fungicidal/fungistatic disinfectant.

5-Any structural wood components in the wall, floor, or ceiling cavities that display residual mold growth that appears to be embedded in the wood are encapsulated with an EPA approved, low-toxicity fungicidal/fungistatic encapsulant coating.

6- Lastly, the air in the work areas are scrubbed clean with HEPA filter air scrubbers to remove any lingering mold spores and other contaminants from the air.
